FOR A JUST, MODERN, STRONG
AND BEAUTIFUL MALTA

Malta is heading into a new era, and it’s crucial that you take the lead. We’re aiming for a future where our communities are vibrant and genuine, not downtrodden and lifeless. A place where work pays and inspires our youth to make the country more beautiful.

Right now, things might seem bleak and discouraging. But even though I sometimes feel angry and frustrated, I haven’t lost hope—not even a little bit. Europe too can help in making Malta more beautiful. With my experience as the Secretary General of one of the four largest parties in the European Parliament for over six years, I know what we need to do to achieve this.

Black Carbon emissions

Congratulations for the presentation on Black Carbon emissions by Prof. Noel Aquilina and Ben Tabone, for which I was present today.

According to the authors, this is the first study on the effects on health of Black Carbon in Europe.

Up till now Black Carbon has been an unregulated pollutant in the EU.

Things are beginning to change.

The Tabone-Aquilina study shows that this pollutant is a cause of 2% of deaths in Malta.

Gzira, St. Pauls Bay and Qormi have the highest level of pollution. Gharb the lowest.

Will the new horrendous Msida flyover contribute to decreasing the levels ...or to increase them ...especially for the inhabitants of the flats on the sides, around 5-6 metres away?
